Every year, in Sri Lanka, between 2500 and 3200 children are born with life threatening heart conditions needing urgent medical intervention or surgery. Primed to gamble having wheel of fortune. There is a critical need to enhance and upgrade facilities to be able to save these children.
The Children’s Heart Project of Sri Lanka is committed to finding a solution to the problem but desperately needs help.
The Rotary Club of Colombo Fort (District 3220 – Sri Lanka and Maldives) with its project partner Rotary Club of Madras Coromandel have come together to help raise funds to realize critical humanitarian needs of those who urgently require such help. The first such project is a Human Heart Valve Bank (Tissue Bank) for the Children’s Heart Project of Sri Lanka.
Dr. Duminda Samarasinghe is one of the Consultant Paediatric Cardiologists in Sri Lanka, who has committed his heart and soul to the Children’s Heart Project of Sri Lanka. He says “the needs are many, but we know Rotarians have large and kind hearts, and they will always find a way”
We are looking at you to wholeheartedly support us. Because you can help to make a Child’s heart beat once more.
